Common questions
How do I set up the shortcut?
In Glozi, tap Set up the shortcut, then Add Shortcut. You can also build it yourself in the Shortcuts app with three actions: Take Screenshot, Look Up in Glozi, Open App (Glozi).
The shortcut opened the wrong screen.
The shortcut captures whatever is on screen at the moment it runs. Run it from inside the app you are reading, not from the Shortcuts app, or Glozi will receive a screenshot of Shortcuts.
My iPhone has no Action Button.
Use Back Tap (Settings, Accessibility, Touch, Back Tap), add the shortcut to Control Center, or ask Siri by the shortcut's name.
It picked the wrong word, or found no text.
Pinch to zoom in on the image and tap again. Very stylised lettering and vertical text can be hard to read.
Does Glozi need the internet?
No. The dictionary and the text recognition both run on your iPhone.
Does it read Traditional characters?
Often, yes, but Glozi is built for Simplified Chinese, so Traditional text is not fully supported yet.
Why doesn't Glozi translate the whole page?
On purpose. Translating everything takes you out of the language. Glozi gives you the one word you need, then gets out of the way.
